iMachining是SolidCAM公司最新研發的高效加工策略（HPC），是一個獨一無二的高效加工(HPC)解決方案。iMachining具有以下兩個特點：智能的刀具路徑和智能的工藝參數。通過智能的動態切削參數生成智能的變體螺旋切削路徑和優化的組合刀路軌跡，保證整個切削過程都能得到最優化的切削環境。
在傳統的深切削慢進給加工策略中，由於採用較大的切削深度所以刀具、機床受載荷比較高；較慢的進給速度造成排屑不容易，加工緩慢；所以整體加工效率比較低。
在HSM高速加工中，通常都是以小的切深、大的進給進行加工，就是我們平時所說的小吃快進，HSM可以縮短生產的週期，但是單個加工工序的時間並沒有縮短。
iMachining高效加工策略（HPC）可以實現大切深、大進給進行加工，並且可以實現動態調整。使用iMachining不僅可以縮短我們生產的週期，而且單個工序的加工時間也得到了大幅度的縮短。
高效加工（HPC）與高速加工（HSC）不同的是，他並不是只限於提高切削速度和進給速度，而是把優化材料切除率放在首位，旨在通過提高單位時間的材料切除量和降低加工時間（基本時間和輔助時間）來進一步低加工費用。
iMachining生成的所有刀路軌跡都是通過接觸角來計算，接觸角是指當刀具旋轉軸為Z方向時，根據刀具和毛坯材料接觸圓弧大小來定義接觸角度，刀具會嚴格按照這個角度進行切削，不會超過我們設定的最大切削角。這種方式與我們之前定義的“行間距”有很大的不同，接觸角方式可以使每次切削的毛坯更加的均勻（如下圖所示）。並且所生成的路徑步距是不恆定的。也就是說是以變化的路徑步距進行加工。可以根據我們目標零件的形狀自動產生擺線與螺旋組合的刀路軌跡。高的進給速度可以根據接觸角的改變進行動態的調整；並且通過進給速度的調整和優化，保證了大切削深度的安全性。
SolidCAM的iMachining變體加工策略，可以自動生成擺線和環繞相組合的刀具路徑，是多種加工軟件中所獨有的一種極為適合高速加工原理的加工方式。
當執行環繞加工的時候，可以把刀具路徑看成賽車在跑道內高速行駛，賽車可以偏離跑道的中心，從而產生類似於賽車在跑道內的運動路徑，賽車可以在不失速率的情況下來轉彎。增加了刀路運動的光滑性、平衡性，避免刀路突然轉向，頻繁的切入切出所造成的衝擊。
iMachining同樣具有智能余量識別功能。能在大加工量、全刀寬切削、拐角等區域自動判，自動採用擺線加工方式進行加工，擺線加工是利用刀具沿著一滾動的圓的運動逐層地對零件進行加工；從而避免使用傳統偏置初加工策略中可能出現的高切削載荷，採用擺線加工方式可以在高速加工中採用大的下切步距，產生的刀具路徑始終是光滑、平穩的。
採用iMachining的優勢：

通過動態的調整進給速度和大切深的使用，就減少了對刀具的衝擊，以及避免了刀具的局部磨損。並且呢通過最大接觸角的控制，保證了刀具所受載荷恆定以及切屑的均勻。
2.縮短加工時間，提高生產效率
特別是對於硬質材料的去除和使用較小刀具進行切削時，極大地提高了效率。大的切削深度的使用，減少了我們層切的次數；高進給速度並能及時動態調整，發揮了機床自身最大功效。
3.智能刀具路徑幫助使用者選擇合理的工藝參數
比如說刀具、切削深度、最大/最小切削角度、進給和轉速等參數的選擇。
4.所有參數的的計算都是基於材料、機床的標準規範
