HowdoesHDREworkinmodo?
Selectoneoffivesuppliedlocations
Justclickonthedesiredlocationtouseasalightsource.Next,draginyourpreferredcamerabackgroundplatefromapaletteofimages.Yoursceneisautomaticallypinregisteredtothebackground,yourresolutionhasbeenadjustedandyourcamerapositionandsettingshavebeenmatchedtothebackgroundplate.Agroundplanehasbeenprovidedforyoutodraganddropyourmeshitemsontopof–andasyoudotheyimmediatelyappeartobe“in”thelocationwithaccuratelycastshadows,lightingandreflections.Youarenowreadytorenderwithouteverhavingcreatedalight,adjustedacameraorevenhavingaccessedtheShaderTree.
Finetuneyourresults
Tofurtherenhanceyourrenderings,embeddedcontrolsarepresentedrightinthemodoviewporttoadjustthingsliketheamountofindirectvs.directillumination.Forexample,movingasliderwillenhancetheshadowsinyourrenderingbyincreasingthelightingcontributionfromphysicalsunthatisavailableatthatprecisegeographiclocation.Youcanalsoadjusttheamountofsaturationforboththeenvironmentand/orthebackground–rightonuptomakingyourbackgroundplatebeablackandwhiteimage.
Whenyouselectanewenvironment,itisaddedtoyoursceneinanon-destructiveway.Thesuppliedscriptssimplylimitthevisibilityoreffectofyourexistingsettingswithoutdeletinganything.Thisworkflowallowsyoutoexperimentwithdifferentlocationsormixtheeffectsyouobtainfromanewlocationwithease.
