IdeaFactoryhasannouncedthatitiscurrentlydevelopingafantasy-basedsimulationRPGforthePlayStation2.GlobalFolktaletakesplaceinadividedcontinentwhereanimalshavetakenover.Thehumanstakerefugeinafarawaylandandcastaprotectivespelloverthatland,allowingthemtoliveinpeace.
GlobalFolktalebeginsinsimulationmode,wherecharactersareselectedandequippedwitharmorandweaponsandthensetinbattleformations.Onthefieldmap,differentroutesandlocationsaredisplayed.Onceyouselectoneofthelocations,thegameswitchesintobattlemode.Everythingfromdungeonsandenvironmentstocharactersisrenderedinpolygonal3D.Thebattlestakeplaceinrealtime,andplayerscaneithermovetheircharactersontheirownorgivethemcommands.
GlobalFolktaleforthePS2hasyettoreceiveareleasedateandpricinginJapan.USreleaseplanshavenotbeenreleased.
