OutputhasreleasedPortal,agranulareffectsplug-in.Portalinvitesyoutorunanyinputsignalthroughitsgranularsynthesisengine,taking“yoursoundstoanotherdimension”,asOutputclaims.Theplug-inalsofeaturesextensivemodulationcapabilitiesandadditionaleffects.

Likeothergranularsynthesizersandeffects,suchasGranulizer2,PolyGAS,orCosmosfFX4,OutputPortaldividesaudiointosmallgrains.Thesearethenresynthesizedtoformtheoutputsignal,whichcansoundlikeawarpedversionoftheoriginal,orsomethingcompletelydifferent.Unlikemanygranularsynthesizers,Portaldoesnotrequireyoutoloadasampleintotheplug-in,butratherappliesitselfasaneffecttotheincomingaudiosignal.

Portalletsyouadjustthegrainwithparameterslikedensity,offset,size,count,andshape.Youcancontrolthepitchshiftingofgrains,whichcanlocktoaselectablescale,ifdesired.Thegrainsection,whichisaccessibleontheadvancedpage,alsofeaturestimestretching,tempo-syncinggraindelay,andlowpassandhighpassfilters.

ControlparameterswiththeX/Ypad
