Adobe公司剛剛宣佈將FlashBuilder更名為AdobeAnimateCC，加入對HTML5的支持，幫助開發人員創建更多Flash網站，廣告和動畫電影。經過20多年發展，AdobeFlashProfessional應用程序現在開始邁向HTML5新時代。幾年前，Adobe將大部分Flash事業部員工轉移到新的部門來開發HTML5，CSS3和SVG等等。

現在，Adobe公司宣佈，FlashProfessional未來版本會採用嶄新的名字–AnimateCC，為通過HTML5和SVG產生動畫效果提供了另一種選擇。AnimateCC將繼續支持FlashSWF文件，但是目前已經沒有人使用Flash來製作網站。Flash唯一保持生命力的地方是在線廣告，其中基於Flash的動畫廣告仍然無所不在。但是，自從推出HTML5之後，Flash音頻和視頻源數量已經顯著下降。

多年來，許多安全專家都要求Adobe停止繼續支持Flash，許多用戶也紛紛加入聲討行列，他們拒絕在瀏覽器中安裝Flash。因此，Adobe通過重新命名其產品提供一個折中方案，很多人會認為這是Flash滅亡的第一個跡象。
